Talk by Josef Málek

The next seminar “Modelling of materials – theory, model reduction and efficient numerical methods” will take place next Monday (November 4, 2019) in the room K2 from 9:00 till 10:30. The talk will be given by Josef Málek. Please see the details below.

Speaker: Josef Málek

Title: Between Euler and Navier-Stokes, and beyond

Abstract: We look at the equations governing flows of incompressible fluids from the perspective of large-data existence theory. While starting from the most frequent models, namely the Navier-Stokes equations and Euler equations, we will focus on fluid models characterized by nonlinear constitutive equations.
The lecture will reflect a joint work with Jan Blechta and K. R. Rajagopal.
