6th European Congress of Mathematics: Minisymposium on implicitly constituted material models

We are proud to announce that we (Josef Málek, Charles University in Prague and Endre Süli, University of Oxford) will be organizing minisymposium Implicitly constituted material models: modeling and analysis. The minisymposium will be a part of the 6th European Congress of Mathematics which will take place on July 2-7, 2012 in Krakow.

The objective of the minisymposium is to:

  • introduce the implicit constitutive theory which is a new framework for developing material models in continuum mechanics,
  • show that the new framework leads to systems of partial differential equations that have very interesting structure,
  • discuss challenging mathematical issues related to the newly developed models,
  • present some recent mathematical results in this field.

See minisymposium webpage for a schedule and lecture abstracts.
